1 How are the children’s lives different from yours? Read and discuss.

The United Kingdom is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. People from many different cultures live in the UK.

In England, during the summer months, fairgrounds open all over the country. The first fair every year is on 14th February, in a town called King’s Lynn. The last fair every year is on 15th November, in a town called Loughborough. These two fairs are more than 800 years old. Between February and November there are fairs every weekend at different places in England. Some children travel and work with their parents at these fairs.
