The Proyectos section of Mapas provides two projects, an individual one and one in groups, in which learners have the chance to create more complex linguistic output by activating the language they have learned in the chapter. Students are encouraged to conduct research on the internet, work in groups, and prepare presentations in a wide range of formats. 

The chapter closes with two projects that prompt students to create a questionnaire to get to know each other better and an online presentation about one of the indigenous communities in the Americas. To do these successfully, students will apply the language structures, cultural knowledge, and practical tips they learned giving a presentation in earlier sections of the chapter. This group project targets Interpersonal, Interpretive, and Presentational Communication. Students will prepare questions in small groups, discuss them and select the best as a whole class, come back as a group to create a questionnaire, take it individually, and finally share the responses with the rest of the class. 

Through the creation of an online presentation (synchronous or asynchronous), students further their Presentational communication skills by presenting on what they have learned about indigenous peoples and cultures in this chapter and on their own.
