      Para calcularlo utilizamos la escala del mapa:

      1:50.000
      1 cm del mapa equivale a 50.000 cm en la realidad.

      Como la distancia en el mapa es de 38,4 cm, en la realidad será:

      38,4 × 50.000 = 1.920.000 cm

      Expresamos el resultado en kilómetros:

      1.920.000 : 100.000 = 19,2 km

      Entre los dos pueblos hay 19,2 km.

      • La escala sirve para representar superficies reales en un espacio pequeño.
      • La escala 1:50.000 significa que una unidad del mapa equivale a 50.000 unidades en la realidad.
